This is a review of the keylogger – Actual Spy. The software is quite popular in its niche so lets find out how it does. As usual, we start at the website. Although the Actual Spy website looks quite old fashioned, it is easy to navigate. The site offers a free trial that lasts for 40 minutes and the purchasing and downloading of the software is painless.
Once installed (a process that is reasonably straight forward), you can open up the Actual Spy user interface. The interface itself is slightly cluttered, and takes a while to get use to. Its definitely not the friendliest we've seen. Actual Spy records has all the usual keylogger functions including; Keystroke logging, screenshot capture, websites visited and programs used. Sadly, apart from the 'printer monitoring' there are no other features that really make this keylogger stand out from the crowd.
The stealth levels of Actual Spy are notable, the software couldn’t be found in the task manager or the add/remove programs list. There is also the option to send the logs to a remote computer, either by FTP, email or LAN. Another down side of Actual Spy though, is the website monitoring. The software seems only to be able to log activity from internet explorer.
So to sum up, Actual Spy has a couple of good features but also a lot of down sides. Although the stealth levels of the software are good, there’s nothing really here to get excited about and nothing pushing this keylogger to the front of the crowd. Stick to something else.
