This is a review of eBlaster, the computer monitoring software from SpectorSoft. The eBlaster website is easy to navigate and the purchasing and downloading the software is simple. The only downside so far is the lack of a free trial, which will be a big put off for most prospective buyers.
Another thing immediately put me off of eBlaster. Spector Pro is the sister product and the only difference between the programs is that eBlaster remotely monitors the target computer and with Spector Pro you need physical access of the machine. It seems to me that these products are exactly the same but have these small differences to make you purchase different programs. Both of these programs could of easily been bundled together to make one great program.
That aside, eBlaster is a decent keylogger. It was all the normal functions – keystroke recording, email monitoring, websites visited and programs used. Everything is recorded very efficiently and the remote alert feature works very well. You can be alert remotely of emails that have been sent to and from the target computer, in fact everything that happens on the machine can be reported to you by email. One of the big downsides is the inability to take periodic screenshots.
Eblaster is an ok keylogger but its way overpriced and lacks a few important functions. You can get software that does exactly the same and more (and will also have a free trial) for a lot lower price. And I really don't understand why this and Spector Pro is a separate product.
