This is a review of Family Keylogger, as usual we'll start off at the software’s website. The website is very simple and although it looks old fashioned, is easy to navigate. Purchasing and downloading of the software is also very simple and the website offers a free trial of Family Keylogger.
After installation, Family Keylogger can be opened with a selected key combination. Sadly, we run into are first down point already – you cannot set a password for the software, so anyone slightly knowledgeable can open the software and mess with the settings. The functions of Family Keylogger include; Keystrokes recorded, websites visited, applications used and emails sent. There is a lack of screenshot capture in this keylogger, which for me is a huge downside.
The above features of Family Keylogger do work very well. Unfortunately though, that’s not a lot of functions, making the software very basic. There’s no chat monitoring, remote reporting, file activity monitoring or screenshot capture. All of these are features that are common place in keyloggers these days. Another downside is the lack of stealth in Family Keylogger – the software can be found and disable very easily.
So all in all, Family Keylogger is a very basic, less than average keylogger. What it does do, it does very well, sadly though, that’s not very much at all. The lack of common keylogger features makes me wonder why anyone would buy this software when there’s a lot more competent programs out there for similar prices.
