This is a review of SoftActivity and as usual, we'll start off at the products website. SoftActivity sells two computer monitoring products – the keylogger, which we'll review here and 'Activity Monitor' which is geared towards business and multiple computer use. The Activity Monitor software is a lot more expensive. The SoftActivity website is easy to navigate and everything you'll need to know about the product is there. They also offer a 15 day free trial.
SoftActivity Keylogger monitors the following; Keystrokes, screenshots, applications used, websites visited, chat conversations and emails sent/received. All of this works very well and the installation and set up of the software is simple. As for stealth, SoftActivity Keylogger rates somewhere in the middle, it took us a while to find the software but we did!
Downsides? Well SoftActivity keylogger does miss out a few features that are commonplace in keyloggers these days – file activity monitoring, printer monitoring and download activity. Also, the software can't send files by FTP. SoftActivity was also a little resource heavy, so it could slow down lower end spec machines.
Apart, from this the software does work well and is very user friendly. The price is reasonably competitive but there are better keyloggers out there in this price range. All in all, SoftActivity is a decent keylogger but not comprehensive enough to warrant a high score.
