StaffCop is the computer monitoring software from 'Atom Park Software'. The software promotes itself as employee monitoring software but its features in this respect are limited. As a keylogger/computer monitoring software, StaffCop has a fair amount of features. If you are looking for employee monitoring though, stick to something else.
We start off at the website. StaffCop's is easy to navigate and everything you need to know about the software is there. They also offer a 15 day free trial, so you can test everything out before you buy. Once purchased, the downloading and installing of the software is simple and once installed the user interface is very friendly.
All the usual keylogger features are there – keylogging, screenshot capture, websites visited, programs used. SpyCop also monitors both sides of a lot of major chat applications, including MSN, Yahoo and ICQ. Everything thats monitored is time & date stamped including when the system is shut down and when users log in or log out.
Reporting is great in StaffCop, as well as viewing the reports within the program they can be sent by email or viewed remotely on the local network. The downsides of this software? Well, there are no filtering or blocking options and the program can be buggy at times, with a lot of performance problems becoming apparent the more we used it. The screenshots are of poor quality and can slow computers down noticeably.
All in all, StaffCop is an ok keylogger, but is average at best. It is sold as staff monitoring software and definitely falls short of the mark there. There are a lot better products out there for normal computer monitoring and employee computer monitoring alike.
