For this review of XPCSpy Pro we'll start at the website. There is a free trial offered for the software but the website looks very outdated and hard to understand. You can choose which version of XPCSpy to purchase – the regular version or the 'pro' version. After purchasing and downloading the software you can begin the installation process.
The installation of the software is very simple and once complete, you can choose your desired password and settings for the software. As stealthiness goes, XPCSpy is average. No sign of the software could be found in the task manager or the add/remove programs list but it could be found in its directory with a small amount of searching.
The user interface of the software is very friendly and good looking. Everything you need is there and easily reachable. XPCSpy Pro has most of the normal keylogger features – keystroke logging, screenshot capture, websites visited, programs used, chat conversations and email intercept. Most of these features work well but there are a few problems. The screenshot capture leaves a lot to be desired and misses out a lot of screenshots and the chat feature only records one side of most IM applications. Another negative point is the weak ability to record the websites visited. A lot of the websites that we visited while testing were missed out.
So with all that in mind, XPC Pro has to be rated at a low level. The features that the program offers are average for a keylogger and some of those features hardly work at all. All of this also means that the reasonably high price tag is undeserved. Stick to something else.
